As mentioned during our previous SPPF gathering, we want to re-shift our purpose as a fellowship by bringing back the basics of meeting together and committing ourselves to God and to one another within our H2O group. What that really means is that instead of heavily relying on running programs every week, we want our focus to be heavier on relationship/fellowship
Acts 2:42-43:
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles."
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles."
We've shared this verse with you last week in hope these words will echo with each one of you, because the leadership team really believes in the definition of fellowship in this passage: by devoting ourselves to God's teaching, of prayer and breaking of bread together. So in light of all this, we'll be starting to meet together on Sunday afternoons starting this weekend, on Feb. 3rd. We encourage everyone to attend Sunday School (9:30am - Pastor Cal is teaching a class for H2O @ 118 Empress... the house next to the church!) and Worship Service (11am - Combined Service this week... meaning we'll be on the 3rd floor!), while H2O will formally start at 1:30pm.
Right after worship service, there will be Fellowship Lunch this Sunday. Now, for those who haven't bought tickets last week, here's the deal: if you are having Fellowship Lunch for the very first time, it'll be free! If this isn't your first time and have no ticket, then please bring along a lunch (or takeout!) and join the rest of us so we can eat together. Tentatively Room 301 (same room as SPPF) will be our meeting place, so bring along your food upstairs!
We hope that you will join us this Sunday as we seek intimacy with God and with each other.
