H2O this weekend: Big Brother Big Sister & Winterlude!

Hi everyone,

With reading week is coming up, we're sure all the students are anxiously awaiting for some well-deserved relaxation and fun entertainment... well, look no further than this weekend's H2O events!!

First off, on Friday, Feb.15th, we'll be participating in AWANA (our church's kids' group) for their BIG BROTHER BIG SISTER NIGHT! If you were with us last Sunday when Salina and Ernest shared with us about AWANA and the children ministry, you would have seen and heard just how important (and fun!) this age group is for us to help serve. God cherishes all the little ones, and as older siblings to these kids, let's share our time to show them we care! It starts at 7:30pm officially... although please come a little earlier so that you can get a sense of what's going on; it will also help the leaders out to know who is participating. We will get to spend time watching and playing with the kids through games and lessons, and through it understand what they do every week. It will be a fun and eye-opening evening, so please come out and join us!

Secondly, on Sunday, Feb. 17th, dig out your skates and winter gear, as we'll be going for our annual outing to Winterlude! Featuring the world-famous Rideau Canal Skateway and numerous ice/snow sculptures, Winterlude is one event that Ottawans and tourists look forward to every year! We'll be heading out after service, so please have your skates with you. If you don't own a pair, have no fear! Rentals are available on the canal (near Rideau Centre) for a few bucks. Don't forget to try the Beavertails! YUM!!

As always, there is Sunday School @ 9:30am (118 Empress, second floor) and Worship Service @ 11am (church basement). Please plan to attend and join our church body to worship our Lord together!

Lastly, MissionFest deadline is this Sunday! Last Sunday, at least 6 people had shown interest in going. If you haven't made up your mind yet, please take the time between now and Sunday to decide! With all the workshops and fairs, MissionFest is a great opportunity to be exposed to different apsects of missions and reaching out, as well as a golden chance for h2o-ers to spend time with each other outside of fellowship/church time. And with all travel and accomodation costs covered by church, how can you refuse?? All it takes is a weekend's time commitment from you (March 7th-9th, Friday-Sunday). Check out MissionFest's official site, or take a look at this video for complete event listings and more. All questions and (hopefully positive) RSVP's can be sent to any of the committee members, to our e-mail, or directly to Fred. Further details will be given once we confirm who is going.

We look forward to seeing you at these upcoming events!
