Dear fellow H2Oers,

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (from James Chapter 2)

And on that note, which we discussed last week, we invite you to contribute some time and energy this Saturday into making brown bag lunches! On Sunday June 10, the 4 of us short-term-missions-trip goers (my mom Salina, Dian, Ann, me) had planned to fundraise for our costs by putting together "brown bag lunches" and selling them after service for $5 each.

I say HAD because ..... as of this past Sunday, we have reached our target of $4000 ALREADY! The last count was $4020.17, to be exact. wow... praise be to God, our guide and provider!! Since this fundraiser was already in the works, however, we have decided to proceed with it. Instead of charging a set amount, the lunches will be given away based on a freewill donation. ALL proceeds will go to two organizations we are going with, because that money is needed to purchase more resources for their staff and students in China (eg. children's literature, equipment, Christian books). These are things that are still "needed for the body."

Our role in preparation is actually very simple -- make some egg salad, put together some sandwiches, pack up with some other things in a bag. Simplicity is also the way of life for many missionaries. I hope you can come help out and, meanwhile, catch up with each other and have some time to fellowship.

Afterwards, we are planning to have dinner together and, since there will be no sens game to watch ( :*( ), maybe we can do some outdoorsy games or something.

Invite your friends. The more the merrier! :)

when: 2:30 prayer, 3:00 start helping out --*note: one hour EARLIER than usual
where: CCCO (probably basement)
